Tough Mary’s Bakehouse

Love is in the air at @toughmarysbakehouse!

With Valentine’s Day on the approach, everyone is feeling those rosy pink feelings, and Tough Mary’s have managed to bottle it up and turn it into a sweet and splendid hot chocolate special.

If you haven’t had a ruby hot chocolate before, now is the time to try – it’s sweet, smooth, and has a bit of a fruity flavour, and the Tough Mary’s creation is topped with what I think I can safely assume is the most decant marshmallow you’ll ever have – raspberry and rose.

And while you’re there, it would be a crime not to have one of the numerous freshly baked cakes or pastries on display. From brownies and blondies to croissants and sandwiches, these treats are prepared in-house daily and are not to be missed.

I had the Cheesecake Cinnamon Babka and god, did I spend a happy 10 minutes peeling it apart and popping gooey, chewy pieces in my mouth.

Whether you pop in with your gals, your pals, the love of your life, or you treat yourself to a little solo date, Tough Mary’s is well worth the walk up Derby Road! And I’m not the only one who knows it – this little cafe was packed full of people when I arrived, proving that it’s an absolute staple of the Nottingham scene.

Big love and thanks to Ellen for having me in for such a lovely little treat!
